Skating By – MFT Stamps

Welcome back to another day of showcases from the latest MFT release. Hope you’re enjoying everything so far. For this card, I decided to try something a little different and pull out my watercolor markers to color the images. I also used various water soluble dye inks when I didn’t have the correct color in watercolor markers. I have not used my watercolor markers in forever as I normally pull out my copics. Boy, am I out of practice. It took me awhile to color these images and I’m not fully happy with them. I will definitely practice much more.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. On an A2 card base, adhere a piece of patterned paper from Holiday Plaid that was die cut with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics.
  2. Using the Postage Stamp STAX Die-namics, die cut a layer of white and Poppin’ Pink cardstock. Trim a snow bank using scissors. Lightly ink blend light blue ink at the top. Stamp the frozen pond at the bottom.
  3. Stamp and watercolor a few images from SY Warm Winter Hugs. Die cut with the coordinating die-namics.
  4. For the background tree line, cut it with the same Postage Stamp die so the edges match up.
  5. Adhere the layers together.
  6. Adhere the skating bear and snowman.
  7. Splatter everything with white paint.
  8. Add white twine at the bottom and on top, adhere a sentiment label on top. The label was created using the Fanciful Frame STAX Die-namics.
  9. Embellish with clear heart drops.

Thanks for taking a look! Only one more day of spotlights left.
